6am alarm clock dances the Devil’s tune to get me out of bed.
Instead I shake my head and stiff arm it! Clock parachutes with no chute to the deck, dead.
That noise was louder than the annoying jingle but something else is roaring in the background.
Through my blinds I see vivid colors of red and blue, distant and near sirens blaring too.
It’s the very moment, an ominous one too, that I realize that my alarm did not strike the melodies that awoke me from my dream of ravaging picnic baskets like Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo.
It was the strums of hammers beating blatantly on bullet backs at rapid succession, [accelerando], and the deafening shouts of the ejaculating slugs too, [staccato].
The moans, the wailing cries of souls being torn from their fleshy counterparts,
sweethearts purging their last words from their hearts’ lips, nozzle tips spontaneously spark.
Blood drops fall thunderously to the unforgetting payment; a fresh luminous blue in the dark.
Children slayed by unforgiving weapons and their contradicting operators… A technology called man has still not upgraded with the times, we are seemingly not that smart.
